Following is a partial list of events that Thinksoft has participated in so far:
Nasscom HR Summit: "Skill Sets and Higher Value Added Service - Quality Assurance and Testing".
As a pioneer in creating domain focused testing careers, Thinksoft shared its experiences from a future perspective at the Nasscom HR Summit held in July 2005 at Chennai. Vanaja Arvind broke the 'high value myth', emphasizing that high value could be achieved in any service by delivering business value to the customer and by moving up the value chain within the service. Vanaja highlighted the importance of industry and academy creating well rounded individuals who could take this industry to the next level.
Seminar for System Integrators and IT services community:
Based on its experiences and understanding from working with Global 500 organizations, Thinksoft conducted a seminar for the System Integrator Community on the topic, "Bridging the quality Gap in IT outsourcing with Independent Testing."
The seminar helped generate an informed discussion among its member community by disseminating information, sharing knowledge and insights about this phenomenon. The seminar also discussed interaction models, minimum viable project sizes for ROI on independent testing and bridging the culture gaps between European countries and India in outsourcing.
Nasscom Quality Summit: Maintaining a competitive edge in the global outsourcing arena, through process maturity.
Vanaja Arvind, Executive Director of Thinksoft, addressed a packed audience of over 300 delegates from the UK, Canada, Australia and India on the above subject. She stressed that the "Indian IT industry needs to focus its process efforts towards building appropriate competencies and capabilities to deliver more value to customer." She also highlighted the need to look at the right process maturity based on the business models.
She observed that, "While Quality Certifications have certainly helped to establish the image of Indian IT industry in the world market, now is the time to look at using process efforts to build sustaining competitive advantages."
IBM Rational Seminar: Case-study on Automated Testing for Core Banking Application
Thinksoft presented a case study on Automated Regression Test Pack (ARTP) for a core banking application rollout of one of Asia's largest banks. The presentation highlighted the criticality of domain knowledge in designing and deploying an automated regression test pack successfully. The case study also demonstrated how Thinksoft delivered significant business benefits to its clients through business analysis and independent testing.
Plenary Session - User Forum - IT Outsourcing:
Asvini Kumar, Founder Director and CEO of Thinksoft, delivered a talk at the User Forum on ‘Should you outsource testing - Why & How?'
He focused on the increasing complexities of IT projects and said that outsourcing by global organizations has become more the norm than the exception. As a result, quality issues faced in outsourcing are becoming a serious business risk. Mature global organizations are addressing these risks through effective requirements audit and domain focused independent testing.
In his speech, he also talked about various models/ options available in installing a business requirement assurance framework, and presented a case study.
Executive briefing for members of a banking community: "Outsourced Independent Testing – a Powerful Strategy to bridge the quality gap in outsourcing ".
The briefing was aimed at helping banks learn from the experiences of other organizations managing quality risks in outsourcing, and at exploring strategies to bridge the outsourcing quality gap. The briefing covered, amongst other things, the outsourcing process, review of costs from the perspective of the product life cycle, why quality gaps arise in outsourcing, and measuring return on investment in using an independent testing partner approach.
The briefing also included sharing real life case studies on global banks’ experiences with outsourcing and strategies adopted by some of these banks to mitigate quality risks in outsourcing.
